Hello and welcome to Reception's class page. 

Your Reception team are Miss Walker, Mrs Roach and Mrs Holderness. 

Our classroom has lots of different areas such as our Enchanted Reading forest, mark making area, creative area, home corner and many many more. We hope you love, dancing, singing, smiling and learning because there is bundles of it in Reception. 

 

Our aims for the year is for your child to grow in confidence, make new friends and have lots of fun!!

 

Our day starts at 9am where the children are welcomed at the gate. Please be on time as our learning starts straight away. Our day finishes at 3.30pm and collection is from the same gate. 

 

Things to bring: 

• Please bring your book bag to school daily, books will be regularly monitored and checked so please make sure it is in every day. As explained at the presentation morning, please read and sign your child's Reading Record 3 consecutive times. Books are changed Tuesday and Friday and homework will be sent linked to their new learning or our weekly topic focus.

• A named water bottle as the children are encouraged to drink throughout the day.

• A warm coat / raincoat / spare change of clothes. We are EYFS and we do spend a lot of time outdoors in rain or shine. Children are encouraged to change themselves but of course we will help them if they need it. 

• Spare underwear / socks just incase of accidents. 

• Suitable school footwear.

• Suncream and sun hat where appropriate.

 

Our PE day is on Monday and we have Yoga with the Yogi Group on Tuesday. 

 

Please make sure that your PE top, PE shorts and pumps are all labelled and are placed in a named PE kit bag. These will stay on your peg and will be sent home at half term to be washed and changed. 

 

Starting Reception is a huge step and please remember that every child settles at their own pace.

Starting school is a very special milestone, and we look forward to being part of your child’s journey as they learn, grow, make friends and discover new things. We want every child to feel happy, safe and confident in our classroom, and we will do all we can to help them settle in and enjoy their time at school.

We believe that working together with families is an important part of making the Reception year a success, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or worries.
