Welcome to Year 2!

Welcome to Year 2 Class page. The staffing in Year 2 now consists of Mrs De Carteret as the class teacher, the class Teaching Assistants, Mrs Alla-Cudjoe and Miss Hodson.

Please make sure that your child has a full PE kit in school that fits them. 

Please make sure that all school uniform is clearly labelled with your child's name.

Reading Challenge! 

Children work their way through our reading challenge. They move a step every read at home. Once they  reach the top they win a prize! Happy reading.

• First read is to practise their phonics to read.
• Second read is for the meaning of the words.
• Third read is for the understanding of the book as a whole.

Homework

Homework for the Spring Term will be completion of the work set on Purple Mash and phonics or spellings. As it is Spring Term, we will introduce more comprehensions and SATS style maths questions.

**Please make sure you read every night and complete your homework every week - it is really important that you practise the skills we teach in school at home and homework is always based on the skills you will need for the SATS or what we have been learning in class that week.**
