English Martyrs' Catholic Primary School ...a School of Sanctuary

We are proud of our diverse make up.

Our Mission Statement says we are all unique, beautiful individuals, but together make up a masterpiece. This is reflected in our backgrounds and creeds, which are all different, but our common goal and value is one of a welcoming nature. We openly welcome all who join our school or visit us.

It is for this reason we have a 'School of Sanctuary' status, where we encompass our Gospel Values of tolerance,nurture, trust and love in our caring environment, by welcoming and providing a 'sanctuary' for many.

We are working closely with the Preston City of Sanctuary Team as well as the British Red Cross in celebrating our sanctuary and diversity.

After our assessment on in Autumn 2016, Jeff Morgan who was one of the assessors, emailed school and said...

It was a great privilege - as well as a real pleasure - to work with you....the school's staff were truly inspirational in presenting the concepts of diversity, inclusion & sanctuary. The young folk themselves followed  their teachers' lead, responding with instinctive compassion as much as with the "passion" of youth...'
