Everyone has a voice and everyone's voice deserves to be heard. At English Martyrs', we have an active School Council. They meet regularly (observing social distancing) and discuss matters of importance to THEM, our children in school. They talk to their peers and friends in class and present their suggestions as a council, asking relevant staff members if permission is needed to change things.
Over the years, our School Council have:
Helped write the school Mission Statement
Helped in interviews of staff by taking them of tours around school, interviewing them
Raised money through cake sales and sponsored events
Bought new playground equipment with money they have raised as classes
Worked with Mrs Howarth to redesign Golden Time
Run stalls and helped at Fayres and school events
Their voices matter, pupil voices matter at English Martyrs'.
