Spring Term 2
Year 1 2019 2020
Well done to Anthony, Umar and Pola who have completed some great work at home and on line this week ~ you get the virtual balloons! Please complete the work in this week's newsletter below and email pictures, videos to EMYear1@englishmartyrs.lancs.sch.uk
Mrs Howarth has kindly set up a class email for each year group, for you to share your learning with me which is: EMYear1@englishmartyrs.lancs.sch.uk - I look forward to hearing all about your home learning and how you are spending time with your family.
Please see below links to additional information to support your child's Home Learning Pack. In addition, I have set tasks on Purple Mash and MyMaths to be completed by next Thursday and I will update these tasks weekly and provide feedback through those websites.
*NEWSFLASH 21st May* - ABC Does has a page full of fun and practical ideas for home learning ~ https://abcdoes.com/home-learning/ - personally, I am going to try and make the Dandelion Honey!!
Please read with your child every day - enjoy books together and listen to them read - Oxford Owl https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/ has lots of free online phonics books to share with your children.
In addition, a number of websites are providing educational resources for free ~ Phonics Play https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/ & Twinkl https://www.twinkl.co.uk/blog/how-to-utilise-twinkl-during-the-coronavirus-shutdown-a-guide-for-schools (free for a month).
I have been taking part in the Joe Wicks workouts with my children at home (daily, 9:00 - 9:30 on his YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1). They are amazing (but tough !!).
I would also strongly recommend putting a timetable in place for home learning to keep a structure to the week days - please see 'Parent Information' below for a blank timetable.
Please check back here regularly for further updates ~ I will do all I can to support you at home.
