Missing you all lots,

Mrs Thomas

We miss you!

We miss you! 1 Mrs Thomas
We miss you! 2 Miss Hankin
We miss you! 3 Mrs Howson

The world feels unsettled and different right now. We had lots of exciting things planned in Nursery so we are just as disappointed as the children right now that school is closed. We hope you enjoy your home learning packs and can't wait to hear what you have been up to when we return.

Mrs Thomas will endeavour to keep the class page as up to date as possible whilst school is closed for the majority of children.

Stay Safe,

Mrs Thomas and the Nursery Team

Mrs Thomas, Mrs Howson and Miss Hankin are communicating daily. We are missing your smiles and all the stories you tell us each day. If you would like to tell us what you are up to, or send us some photos please do so to;

While We Can't Hug

This simple animation is to support children to understand how they can interact with their friends whilst keeping a 2 meter distance. Hedgehog and Tortoise want to give each other a great big hug, but they're not allowed to touch. Instead they use other ways to show each other that they are loved and cared for.

As we are now adjusting to our new normal, of life at home, children may be finding life tough and acting out. These are challenging times for us as adults and parents, as well as the little people we care for. Please get in touch if you need anything, we are here to help. Below is a tip sheet from Triple P, a parenting course some of us have been doing together this year.

Announcement of School Places

School Readiness

Ensuring your child is ready for school can cause some confusion for parents, especially at this current time. Please be assured that whilst school is closed we are not expecting you to 'teach' your child in the same way we would phonics and maths. School readiness runs so much deeper than academic ability, and in fact what we wish to ensure is that the children have the smoothest transition into school possible.

Below is a list of characteristics we would expect a child who is school ready to display;

*Independently use the toilet

*Is able to dress themselves

*Understand how we behave in school and are able to follow the rules

*Is able to turn take and share

*Have confidence to ask a grown up for something they want or need

*Can separate from their parents/carers at the door

*Can sit still for a short period of time, for example listening to a story.

Children learn and develop at different rates so please don't worry if your child finds some of these tricky!
